Description:
This pattern imitates the adult caddisfly. Caddis imitations are among the most effective dry flies, particularly during a hatch, when fish often switch almost exclusively to feeding on caddis and ignore other patterns. There are even occasional takes from pike on this fly, although landing them is difficult as the fine tippets used for trout and grayling are quickly cut by pike’s sharp teeth.
